ABOUT CHWMS

The Colorado Hazardous Waste Management Society, Inc. (CHWMS) is a nonprofit organization, created in 1985 to provide a forum for the exchange of information concerning technologies, laws and regulations, and other current developments pertaining to environmental health and safety matters and waste management issues.

CHWMS membership consists of technical and legal professionals from environmental organizations, the government, academia, industry and the private sector. Members generally work in the environmental, health and safety fields.

CHWMS provides information about current environmental health and safety development to its members through newsletters, monthly luncheon meetings, semi-annual workshops, and other reference materials.

NCMA Presents Avoiding Errors in Accounting and Reporting Under CAS, FAR and GAAP on February 14

National Contract Management Association (NCMA) is having a breakfast seminar on February 14, 2012, 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Braun's on Blake. The topic of discussion will be "Avoiding Errors in Accounting and Reporting Under CAS, FAR and GAAP."

SAME 2012 - 2013 Scholarship Program

Application forms are now available for the 2012-2013 Society of Military Engineers (SAME) scholarship program. The scholarships are open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who meet the requirements.

Applications are due by February 24, 2012 and winners will be announced by March 18, 2012. Scholarship awards will be paid to the educational institution and applied to the 2012-2013 academic year.

Last year the Denver Metro Post awarded six scholarships totaling $4,500.00.

CHWMS Scholarship Information

CHWMS is still accepting scholarship applications! CHWMS will be offering three scholarships of $1,500.00 each to students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Colorado university or college. Students must be studying engineering, geology, environmental sciences, law, or another field in which they may address environmental issues, and must intend to work in an environmental field. Applications will be due by February 29, 2012. Please contact Caroline Lee (Caroline.Lee@FaegreBD.com) for an application and information.
